Workers recreates perfect replicas of vintage American workwear.
“Workers gathers vintage pieces of American workwear, then meticulously reproduces the garments to nearly perfect replicas. It even goes so far as to document the production process, ensuring the clothing is made as it should be. The company releases the items one at a time and nearly everything sells out. So if you are going to score that perfect denim chore coat you need to act fast. Workers is truly great stuff.” - ACL
As a Midwesterner with little to no disposable income, learning about this kind of thing usually just makes me want to cry.
But now I have a plan: I do enough thrift & vintage shopping around the cities and in places beyond that I think I’ll open an Ebay store selling some of the great clothes I find. Shanai has already started doing it and has a fairly successful little side business in the works. Get this: there’s a place a couple hours away that let’s you fit as much stuff as you can into a paper grocery bag and charges just $2 for it! A decent flannel shirt is going for $10 on Ebay. It’s a no-brainer!
So I sell and I sell and I sell and I never spend any of the money I make and then, maybe after a year or two, I can afford one of these shirts or maybe this amazing Lot100 Sack Coat (which would look great with a bow tie).
