Dear Zachary: A letter to a son about his father.
This documentary absolutely destroyed me. As heartbreaking as it is, it’s also quite life-affirming. I really can’t recommend it enough.
It’s streamable on Netflix.

BTW, add this to your queue. Great flick.
It [Nosferatu - Ed] was not so much a remake as an homage to Murnau. But I don’t feel like doing an homage to Abel Ferrara because I don’t know what he did — I’ve never seen a film by him. I have no idea who he is. Is he Italian? Is he French? Who is he?

Werner Herzog, talking about his upcoming film Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans.
As for Abel Ferrara, well, he directed the original Bad Lieutenant. It starred Harvey Keitel. Herzog’s movie stars Nicholas Cage and Xzibit.
This is why I love Werner Herzog.
To be fair, Ferrara has been reported as saying he’d like to see Werner and Nicholas “die in Hell.”
Werner Herzog & Nicholas Cage… together at last. Oh, and Xzibit too. Doing a remake of 1992’s Bad Lieutenant…

I saw Bonnie & Clyde (1967) for the first time a couple of weeks ago. Faye Dunaway!
Guy Maddin is in town tonight.
Films I have recently enjoyed: Drag Me To Hell (2009)
I really had fun at this one. Nothing too deep, just a straight up rock-solid horror show. Perfect respite from a sticky hot Summer day. It’s kind of awesome that Sam Raimi is still doing movies like this.
Cameron’s house is for sale: $2,300,000.

Dear Interwebs,
Yes, I know you’re excited for Where the Wild Things Are. I am too. Here are some new images from the film. Want to go see it together?
