This weekend is the Mohler Family Reunion: Back To Our Roots Edition! [Yeaaaa!]
And by roots, they mean Nebraska. [Ohhhhh.]
But in all seriousness, it should be a lot of fun. We were sent a daily schedule (in spreadsheet form) and there is absolutely no downtime. Between check-in on Friday and settle-up on Sunday we will be partaking in literally every leisurely pastime ever lazily concocted.
Including a Mohler Family favorite: the talent/photo/art show. Which brings me to #7 on the Mohler Family Reunion FAQ:
7. We will be having our art/talent show on Sunday evening. If you cannot “bring” a creative product or two (or more), try providing us a taste of it by choosing (or taking) 10 photos and bringing them on a CD or flash drive. During the Sunday evening festivities, we can project the photos on a screen and you may talk about them if you wish (if you don’t want to talk about them, no problem). I’ve had fairly good luck taking digital photos of printed photos when that was the only option. If your talent or passion is music, consider bringing your instrument to play, or a video, favorite song on sheet music, favorite song(s) on CD, etc. For those with artistic/creative endeavors to display, (Suzi) Marie will be in charge of the displays in the lodge. If you don’t think you have an artistic/creative product-think again: Do you garden? Do you have beautiful children or grandchildren? Do you have a lovely living room? Do you have any extracurricular activities that you enjoy such as running, bowling, etc? These all count in our book.
Is that not the cutest thing you’ve ever seen? I’m going to live-blog it if theres Wi-Fi.
So here’s my request: It’s a 7 hour drive from Minneapolis to our final location outside of Linwood, Nebraska. What are your favorite ways to pass time in the car?
